In his early twenties, Oliver had an idea to create a range of shirts and ties that would break free from the conservative designs he saw while working for one of Ireland’s leading department stores. In 1980, the Roscommon native decided to launch a new venture, combining his fashion industry experience with his creative flair to establish the André Shirts label, a brand that would embody the fusion between Irish heritage and international style.
Oliver and Stephanie Kelly have lived and breathed their brand; growing from a home business to the commercial success we know today. They are devoted to their craft and have been designing and supplying shirts and ties to the menswear sector in Ireland and the UK for over 40 years.
As retailers demand change, so too has André, introducing a knitwear and jeans line to complement their trademark cotton shirts.
Each season the in-house design team, which is based in Sandyford in Dublin, keeps ahead of the latest fashion trends and are constantly creating and breaking new ground by globally sourcing stunning high-quality fabrics, with special attention given to the contrasting detail – trims, buttons, collars.
